Undoubtedly one of my favourite breakfast destinations in Melbourne, I look forward to my visit to Cumulus Inc. every time I fly down. If you are seeking the tastiest wood fired gluten free toast to mop up your runny egg yolk in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, you have come to the right place.
Andrew McConnell’s Cumulus Inc. is an eating house and bar serving breakfast, lunch and dinner so half the dilemma is deciding what time of the day to visit. Each offering is equally impressive so no matter what your choice you are in for a great meal.
The industrial minimal interior is clean and light. The open plan kitchen includes a bar style seating area, my favourite seat in the house as I get to watch the fast paced action in the kitchen and hopefully pick up a few tips along the way (every foodies dream seat).
When I visit Melbourne I like to start my day with a hearty protein packed breakfast to sustain a day of heavy duty shopping. The signature Cumulus Inc. breakfast of boiled egg, gluten free toast, preserves, yoghurt, organic orange juice and Single Origin coffee ticks the box every time. If I can squeeze a fruity gluten free muffin in I generally do, like I said there is a lot of walking ahead of me!
A deliciously fantastic way to start your day but you need to get in early to avoid the hungry crowds eager to get in. If you are a late riser you will be joining a very long queue, so I suggest you pack a woolly jumper.
