Broadbeach has fast become our favourite family holiday destination. It’s only a 1 hr flight from Sydney and ticks all family members boxes – beach, sun, sand, theme parks and for me outstanding food. No trip is ever complete without a visit to our No 1 Broadbeach restaurant, Social Eating House.
As the name suggests, Social is a place for sharing so go with friends and family to sample a selection of mouthwatering small and large plates. The modern industrial decor is warm and inviting and has a cool Manhattan vibe to it.
Gluten free options are plentiful from delicate starters like garlic king prawns and sherry thyme mushrooms to a great selection of warm and hearty proteins in large plates. The chargrilled octopus with potato aioli is so meltingly tender that we always order three serves of this delicious bar snack before it even hits the table.
In the large plates the must try dishes are the slow roasted salt bush lamb shoulder in sheep’s milk yoghurt – an unforgettable marriage of sweet and salty melt in your mouth shredded lamb – and the chargrilled chicken with lemon and fresh herbs. I rarely order chicken at restaurants given we eat so much of it at home but this is a bird like no other, a huge step up from your mid week dinner.
The intensely flavoured milk chocolate and coffee marquise with salted caramel and dark chocolate ice cream more than satisfies the chocoholic in me and is well deserved after a morning beach run.
If you are an interstate visitor make a reservation before you arrive in the Gold Coast to avoid disappointment. This place gets booked out very early, particularly in the peak summer period. I always book two months in advance.
Impeccable food with top notch service. If you can only squeeze in one restaurant visit when you are in Broadbeach, Social Eating House has to be it.

Hmm it seems like your website ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what
I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to everything.
Do you have any suggestions for newbie blog writers?
I’d definitely appreciate it.

Thank you very much. My suggestion would be blog about your passion, whatever your interest may be so that it remains a fun hobby. My second recommendation is choose a few social media platforms and focus on growing those to create brand awareness and traffic to your site. It doesn’t cost you anything, but you will need to invest time and post consistently to build a genuine targeted following.
